Now Offering THE RUNNER’S LIFT

Kybella

Now offering the latest FDA-approved treatment for submental fat, also known as a double chin, Kybella™.

How it works

Kybella™ is a synthetic version of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule produced in the liver to break down fat.  It targets the fat cells and destroys them, so that fat cannot reaccumulate.  In April 2015, it won FDA approval for being the first nonsurgical treatment for moderate-to-severe fat below the chin, known as submental fat.

The procedure

Kybella™ is administered via injection using small needles.  The skin is anesthetized with a numbing cream beforehand.  On average, 40 injections are placed and two to five sessions may be needed to achieve the desired outcome.  Each treatment session typically lasts 15-20 minutes and patients find it very bearable, with only minimal pain from the injections.  Sessions are spaced one month apart.

Am I a good candidate?

Kybella™ works best in patients who have submental fullness, or double chin, but not when there is a lot of redundant skin or very prominent muscular bands (platysmal bands).  Kybella™ is an alternative to liposuction in the neck with less downtime.

Downtime

The downtime with Kybella™ is minimal compared with surgery or liposuction.  The most common side effects of Kybella include swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and areas of hardness in the treatment area.  You may return to work after 24 hours.

Results

You can expect to see results after several weeks.  In studies, over 65% of patients reports improvement in the appearance of the double chin.

Micro-needling with the Eclipse MicroPen™ Elite is the latest wave in skin rejuvenation and scar treatment, based on the concept of collagen induction therapy. As the MicroPen™ is applied to the skin, hundreds of superficial micro-channels are created every few seconds. Collagen induction therapy refers to the process whereby microscopic needle puncture wounds stimulate the body’s natural healing response to produce new collagen and skin. The growth of new collagen and elastin fibers results in a smoother-looking, revived appearance to your face and body.

The procedure

The procedure can take anywhere from 5-20 minutes, depending on the treatment area (face, neck, etc.) The depth of the needle, and thus how strong the treatment will be, is customized to each patient individually. As the device is swept across the skin, a hydrating hyaluronic acid gel is gently massages into the treatment area. This soothing product helps the MicroPen™ glide across the skin and aids in skin recovery. A topical anesthetic cream is available if necessary before the treatment however micro-needling treatments are very well tolerated and generally no anesthetic is needed.

Downtime

You may be red for several hours after the procedure, and a small amount of pinpoint bleeding may occur. These effects are temporary. You may return to work the next day.

Results

Improvement in texture, fine lines, pores, scarring and hair loss has been observed with micro-needling treatments. For maximal results, it is recommended that 3-4 treatments be performed, at least three weeks apart. Results may be seen after one treatment.

We now offer ThermiTight, the most advance radiofrequency technology in aesthetic dermatology.

How it works

ThermiTight by ThermiRF uses thermistor-regulated radiofrequency energy to tighten skin and melt unwanted fat. In simple terms, heat is generated by radio waves and used to target and tighten specific areas of skin and tissue. A special camera is used during the procedure to help the doctor position the probe precisely and monitor the skin response.

The procedure

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia in the office.  After the skin is anesthetized, a probe containing a heated tip is inserted under the skin in a very precise manner, while the temperature is monitored in real-time using an infrared camera.  Your physician will monitor the skin temperature to ensure that it reaches the desired endpoint for maximal improvement and to ensure that your treatment is safe.

Am I a good candidate?
